It is perfectly legal to purchase nicotine in tobacco form. It is questionable to sell, purchase, or consume nicotine in a non-carcinogenic form (liquid to be vaped)? What is next... Marijuana prohibition? Am I alone in thinking this is all ludicrous?
Janefan,
While I do agree with you whole heartedly, the truth is when you step back, as I have done with my e-cig company, and really look at what they are saying, it unfortunately does make some sense:
(Also Read my Thread under E-cigs and the Law about my experience with a Held package of e-liquid)
It is not just the nicotine. The FDA is saying that the method of use of this device is to cause a chemical reaction (Vapor) which is then inhaled into the lungs. Nicotine is part of it, but the Flavors, Glycerin, and Propylene Glycol have not been used or tested in this manner either. Nor is there any proper warnings, Labels, etc on most bottles. (Although I started to do that myself).
These products need testing for inhaling too. A big one that got me thinking was the show "HOUSE" with Hue Lorey. If you go to FOX's House series internet page you can watch Season 5, Episode 24. This guy is bleeding from his eyes, and other nasty stuff...At the end they ask him about his Underarm deoderant. He says it is special order to be xtra strong. What is the Main ingredient causing all the problems? Yup, Propylene Glycol! Got to make you think!
